Shark Tank India Questions Episode-19

Ethik
  • Your product is quite good. Quality is great. Craftsmanship is very good. Very nice! Its feel is great, too. Even though it's not leather. What is it made of?
  • What's microfiber made from?
  • But is it originates from petrol?
  • Then it's not environmentally friendly if it’s from petrol?
  • What's the motivation behind starting this brand to replace leather? Moreover, with non-eco-friendly material?
  • What does this shoes cost?
  • Does it costs Rs 4500 for One pair?
  • Is he really your bro?
  • Are you the co-founder? Just to clarify?
  • What's your motivation?
  • Got it. So when did you join Ethik?
  • And when did you start?
  • So it took you 11 years in this business?
  • How much did you invest after joining? What's the share percentage now?
  • He worked for 8 years. You're the real shark here! Why are we even here?
  • Tell me something. What are you sales?
  • Collectively? So 80 lakhs in 5 years?
  • How did you survive with such less sales?
  • What happened then to the sales?
  • Bro, you aren't answering to his questions, what happened to your sales?
  • State the numbers, pal. People talk when numbers are low?
  • From January 2020 till now our sales are Rs. 25 lakh, including the lockdown. That's until now?
  • In two years?
  • Tell me something. Haven't your parents thrashed you yet?
  • Listen to me. In the past 11 years you've made sales of Rs. 1 Lakh per month. Right? It is a joke. Do you admit that? I'm not trying to embarrass you. But it is a joke.
  • An ordinary shoe shop does sales of Rs. 25 Lakhs. Okay? Anyone can do that. You haven't marketed this. None of us five have heard about this?
  • Listen, you have no business. Just for Rs. 2 Lakhs a month..
  • Not diluting the brand.. That sentence feels weird to me. With no brand what are you diluting?
  • What's product diluting?
  • Positioning dilution happens due to price. It doesn't.. Who decides.. All brands offer discounts. In India, you get coriander leaves for free when shopping for vegetables. Discounts need to be offered. Negotiating and discount is in our blood. You're being too rigid here. It's like you're too set on making a purpose driven brand.. Like, you're too rigid to offer discounts!  There's difference between vision and rigidity.
Brainwired
  • How it was updated, through the sensor on the ear?
  • Because it can track the moment of the jaw?
  • So it's permanently installed to the cow?
  • Pregnancy and diseases can you detect that with the ear device?
  • Are you guys brothers?
  • And only both of you are in this business?
  • Why did you get involved? Why did you feel you want to do this?
  • Are you two alone or did you make a team?
  • So you're funded too?
  • What's your valuation and how much did you raise?
  • How much did you raise?
  • And in the first round?
  • I want to ask that four months ago your valuation was 5.5 crores and now it's 10 crores. Why?
  • Tell us about sales and how many farmers have you onboarded. How many are using your app?
  • Oh, last month was the first month of sales?
  • What is the total revenue pipeline?
  • What is the manufacturing cost?
  • Cost of one tag is Rs.1200?
  • What about the base?
  • Are there such solutions like this outside India?
  • What is your price?
  • Your Global competitors do they have the same ear device?
  • Is it just good to have or does it help the farmers in business?
  • You mean, Tracking heat cycle is the main reason for this. Rest is just good to have?
  • Tell me something you're saying there's solution outside India too. If your solution is effective you must sell this in Australia and US. In half the price. They have farms that span millions of hectares for one farmer. There are 10 lakh cows in one farm. It'll become very relevant there?
  • You're making it for Rs. 1,500. You can capture the market there. Why didn't you try there?
  • Does Selling to foreign countries is part of your vision?
  • What's the growth plan?
  • What about farmers training. Technology isn't easy for a basic farmer?
  • You must work on speech. Because farmer can't use too much of vernacular. Eventually a farmer has to be told by voice about the cattle's health and next steps. Are you working on it?
  • What was the valuation of your last round?
  • And you want 50 lakhs?
  • What's your call? On, two, three, Four?
Keto India
  • Why did you keep the name, 'Keto India'? Do you recommend a ketogenic diet for every diet plan? Because I have a strong opinion on this. 'There are so many people in this world who follow' 'ketogenic diet.' 'But our Shark, Anupam Mittal doesn't agree to that.' 'Our Sharks think the use of the word 'keto' can disappoint' 'those people who don't believe in ketogenic diet.'
  • I am a little confused. What does keto do and what does livofy do?
  • It is tricky to build two brands simultaneously. Customer acquisition will be your biggest expense. I would genuinely consider that you should think of building one brand only. Will you take my advice?
  • Will you remove the word 'Keto' from your brand?
  • What is your revenue model?
  • You said, it is profitable. What is your sales and profits till now?
  • Since when you've been doing this work?
  • Has it been almost two and a half years?
  • In two and a half years, you've reached Rs. 15 lakhs in revenue per month. Good. 60 times is your annual revenue valuation.. Your justification in that sends me in a tizzy?
  • Tell us about the customer growth on a daily and month basis.
  • In an entire month? Only 7 to 8 persons are paying per day?
  • Don't you think your pricing is entirely wrong? If there is no cost and is AI based.. Your pricing is so high, you're not getting any conversion.
  • There aren't any profits. Forget about industry standards. Only Rs. 15 lakhs is coming. 45000 people are coming to your site your conversion is so less?
  • I've a couple of questions. How big this business grow?
  • You mean around Rs. 50 lakhs per month?
  • What to do to make Rs. 200 crores in 3 years? What is the barrier?
  • Being careful doesn't make a business. If you've come to Shark Tank and we can't make Rs. 200 crores in 3 years then, no use taking money from Sharks?
  • You're already being funded?
Magic Lock
  • I want to know one thing from you. How many such incidents do happen in a day now?
  • Did any accident happen which has brought you in this field? What's your background?
  • Did you manufacture anything before?
  • Is Gas leakage your domain?
  • Tell me one thing. As per the government rules nothing can be fixed on the cylinder. You are asking people to fix this. So if I.. I don't know you. If the government delivers us a LPG cylinder they must have taken safety measures.
  • Why should I fix this device? Why should I even consider that?
  • Why don't you convince the government to make it mandatory?
  • The IGL CNG company Indraprastha Gas won't allow you to fix anything in the pipes. Why would they allow?
  • So why didn't you manufacture a rubber pipes?
  • What's your revenue so far? Do you sell?
  • But how much did you sell? In B2B businesses?
  • What's the monthly sale?
  • How does each piece cost?
  • And what's your cost?
  • I don't get it. It's such a revolutionary product. Why isn't it growing? Something is wrong somewhere?
  • Why do you need 1 crore from us?
  • You say it's a safety device. What if we install this in all homes and a mishap still occurs?
  • If you say mishaps may still occur, then it's the same even without your product?
  • So did you perform any study on this? About percent of reduced incidents?

  • What happened? Why did not scale?
  • How much traffic do you have?

  • Why are you selling glasses?
  • Why don't you want to focus on the caps? Everyone makes t-shirts. There are hundreds of t-shirt brands out there. Even if all the sharks as well as you go down there is no brand selling caps. If I can launch this in the market it'll be a sensation.

  • And how much were the sales in the last month?
  • What is your average selling price?
  • Who is the CEO of the company?
  • What is your shareholding pattern?
  • What if you guys have a fight or something, who will decide?
  • You said you're from NIFT. There is something called design language. Take any brand for example Louis Vuitton or Gucci.. People will take one look and recognize the brand and it belongs to their design range. This looks like half of Janpath Market half from Rajouri Garden. A little bit of Sarojini Nagar and a little of GK. You've chosen products from four street vendors and you've decided to sell them online. Or did you design them and ask someone to manufacture them?
  • What is your main USP?
  • Which can be copied, right?
  • You are the main designer of the firm. Did you hire any other designers?
  • So you launch the design that you like? It's a very competitive market. A lot. And you said that the only differentiation is design so if you make designs of all kinds then it'll become difficult to make a brand?
  • You want to make a fast fashion bags brand. Did you do some work on how to retain a fast fashion market?
  • When you started your pitch you said a statement. Vegan bags. So are all your bags vegan?
  • All the bags? Isn't that a differentiator? You are not talking about it. I don't get it.
  • I didn't even understand the design. Secondly, in the future, there may be a clash between you guys. What will happen to the company then?

Shark Tank India Questions Episode-24

The Sass Bar
  • Is this not 'Kaju Katli'?
  • How did you get into this?
  • Gifting.. I can understand. Many people think that there are not enough gifting items. We have experienced it ourselves. We don't find anything. But why soaps?
  • Are you making a gifting company or are you making a company like 'The Body Shop'?
  • So, you are making a gifting company?
  • Rishika.. There are big companies dedicated to gifting. They get involved everywhere where there is a scope for gifting. I can see on their home page that there will be a section for soaps. So, how can you compete with them with just one kind of gifting option?
  • Are there any other products besides the stationery box?
  • Are the new products here?
  • But, Rishika, Instead of just adding stationery have you thought about an expansion in the bath products? For example, bath salt.. Bath bombs especially.
  • Can you expand there?
  • Oh! Is it? You can only produce bath bombs in a certain time of the year in India?
    Are you making candles too?
  • Tell me one more thing. I was reading the list of ingredients. It's paraben free vegan, and cruelty-free. All of which is very close to my heart. We use toxin-free and safe ingredients. We use it in 'Mamaearth'. But when you are adding so much oil to your product. Does a melting issue arise when the temperature rises? This might happen especially during the summer.
  • Oh, you did a soap-making course?
  • What about the sales?
  • What about last month’s sales?
  • How much does this gift cost?
  • What is the exact MRP of this product?
  • Among Rs. 30 lakh sales that you have how much comes from soap and how much comes from non-soap products?
  • I have a question. I'm still a little confused. Which path would you choose if you want to build a big company? If you choose the gifting model then there can be several other products too. So what are you first true to?
  • Can I see that notebook?
  • I'm not much impressed with this notebook. Many people are doing this. But no one is doing this. So building this further and creating better versions of this.. Would you like to explore that direction?
  • Rishika, now I doubt your capability. I want to give you an offer but you are joking?
  • Tell me something. I want to give you an offer. But there is a condition. And the condition is that we have to shift the direction of the business. I think I prefer the direction of body shower. Were we will focus on the bathing needs brand. From kids to old people. With packaging as the USB. And that is something that I can back. But you must have the confidence that you can do it. Because if I invest.. If we make a deal today I'll trouble you a lot. Fine, do you want to hear my offer?
  • You tell us what you think?
  • Do you want Rs. 50 Lakhs instead of 40?
  • Are you going to interview us now?

  • What will you do with 30 lakhs?
  • What machines will you buy?
  • Kamlesh, who will make this?
  • How do you feel?
  • How did you get here?
  • Did the Shark Tank people come to you? Then?
  • Where did you see the Shark Tank Ad? In your phone? And then?
  • Why haven't you taken any grant from anyone?
  • You never applied for grant, as well?
